K8 & GINK
The sisters known as the Internet! 👯♀️
Since the Lions are on a bye, Michigan lost, and F1 is still on break, we’re using this whole newsletter to rant about random sports things that crossover into what we’re all about —like algorithms, Edgar Allen Poe, and wild hairstyles.

The Calgorithm is basically Cal fans using their nerdiness to turn "woke" stereotypes into a whole meme movement—because, of course, only Berkeley would make trolling this intellectual. Now that they’re in the ACC, they’ve fully embraced it, coining gems like the "Woke vs. Coke" game against Miami. It’s all a bit tongue-in-cheek, poking fun at themselves while throwing shade at their opponents. Gotta love how even in sports, Cal keeps it ultra cerebral—because who else would mix football and social commentary this hard?
My God, I love this fanbase

Davante Adams just stirred the pot by posting an Edgar Allan Poe quote on his Instagram, sparking wild rumors that he might be eyeing the Ravens—given their nod to The Raven—or possibly the Jets, Patriots, or Saints. While he's still tied to the Raiders, the timing of his trade request and this literary flex has everyone wondering if he's dropping hints or just feeling the spooky vibes. Whether it’s a trade tease or just Adams 🖤 with gothic poetry, it’s giving Halloweenie.
Oh nothing, just Davante Adams posting a pic of Edgar Allen Poe…

Jimmy Butler showed up to the 2024-2025 media day with a very demure, very classy normal hairstyle—and honestly, we’re kinda bummed. Known for pulling off wild looks, this tame style has us thinking he’s been too busy decorating his luxurious home (featured in Architectural Digest) to worry about his hair. We get it, Jimmy—priorities—but we were hoping for another iconic media day moment!
SMALL WINS
Let’s dive into the *~magic~*! ✨
In a world that's all about the big moments, it's time to give props to the small wins—like finally nailing that thing you put off & it only taking 5 minutes, catching a breather mid-chaos or hustling through a workout when you'd rather binge, Tell Me Lies. They might not make an impact, but these wins? They're the rizz to leveling up. So, let’s celebrate our accomplishments and manifest for the week ahead.
Happy Birthday Kate!
Morgan finally got to see Gink

The GO TIGERS Edition 🏆
The Detroit Tigers are back in the postseason for the first time in 10 years, and while you may not be a baseball expert, here's why it's a big deal. The Tigers pulled off a huge comeback this season, going on a tear with a 31-11 record to secure a playoff spot, which is almost unheard of. What makes it cool? It's not just about home runs and fast pitches; it’s about the heart this team showed when everyone counted them out.
Key players like Tarik Skubal and Parker Meadows put on standout performances. Imagine a player making game-saving plays or dominating the opposition when it matters most—that’s what Skubal and Meadows did. Skubal's pitching was so dominant that people are calling him a Cy Young favorite, the highest honor for pitchers in baseball. Meadows, meanwhile, had walk-off moments that would make even non-baseball fans jump out of their seats.

For Detroit, this playoff run means more than just a shot at the World Series. It’s about the city's comeback vibe. Detroit is a place known for hustling through hard times, and the Tigers’ underdog story fits right in. It’s a reminder that even when you’re down, you can still rise—and Detroiters love that. Comerica Park is buzzing, and it’s not just about sports—it’s about community, resilience, and that underdog energy that’s always present in this city.
So, even if you’re not into baseball, the Tigers’ playoff run is something to watch. It’s not just a sports story—it’s a Detroit story.
