As the Olympic flame dims and the games come to a close, it's a great time to reflect on some of the most unforgettable and entertaining moments from this year's competition. The Australian breakdancer who took the internet by storm brought a whole new level of flair to the Games—dancing just like us. Then there was Stephen Nedoroscik, the pommel horse guy, and gymnastics queen Rebeca Andrade, making big moments for glasses. Nikola Jokić, the reigning NBA MVP (and Gru impersonator), casually dominated for Serbia, as if he were just playing a pick-up game with friends. And let’s not forget Wemby, who brought his towering presence to France’s basketball team, adding another layer of excitement. Despite their best efforts, though, they still couldn’t beat Steph, LeBron, and the USA Men’s Basketball team, who claimed victory on 8.10.24—a fitting tribute to Kobe; the date aligning with his iconic numbers.

Beyond the humor and highlights, there were moments of incredible resilience and spirit. The women of Team USA made their mark, with Katie Ledecky continuing her reign in the pool, Sha’Carri Richardson blazing past the competition on the track, and Simone Biles once again showing why she’s the greatest of all time with her powerful return to gymnastics. Jordan should be allowed to keep her Bronze medal!! Especially when Romania offered to share in a three-way tie. And who could forget Snoop Dogg calling his bestie Martha Stewart to join him during the equestrian events? A classic moment.

Pancake Sunday had to wait while K8 & 🧬 yelled at the screen as the USA Women’s Basketball team faced off against France in a nail-biting match. USA pulled through, winning by just 1 point!

In a historic first, the final gold medal count ended in a tie between the USA and China, both finishing with 40 golds each. But with a total of 126 medals, Team USA still came out on top overall.

We’re sad the Games aren’t available to replay on Peacock after tonight. There’s something thrilling about watching gymnastics, artistic swimming, dressage, and even breakdancing—yes, breakdancing, which was both weird, cool and may never be an Olympics sport again. We obviously favor the sports with music, dancing and sparkly outfits. We’re already planning our LA2028 Lava Bro team.

Now that the Olympic excitement is behind us and summer is winding down, don’t forget to soak up the last few rays of sunshine! I’m planning to catch Marshmello with Myst later this week, and then… well, it seems our investor (🧬) has decided he misses me. www.k8knitzgink.com
